Audacity is a free audio editor using which we can record sounds, play sounds, import and export WAV, AIFF, and MP3 files, and more.
It supports a range of formats that makes a good choice for basic editing. (The price makes the choice even better )
You can manage sound inputs and recording levels from the main screen, lean on a no-cost development and support community, and grow into a new hobby or profession at only the cost of your personal time.
It is fast sound capture, sound enhancement are simply the best.
We’ve been using the software for a while without too many problems. We use it to record old cassettes to digital format, record assignments and various tasks.
I would highly recommend this to anyone who needs to do some basic editing and converting.
A problem that users @ HCT reports is that when the tracks are a bit long, audacity crashes frequently.
I really like the program. It's a big help if you want to create your own ringtones out of mp3 files (if your phone supports it), but one thing I would like to see is the ability to resample the mp3's. Most phones can only use something less than 192 or 128 k bit rates. Add that feature, and it's a solid 5 for me.
